In May 2022 we were awarded the Environmental Impact Award at the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

In September 2022, after 3 years of hard work, we were accredited by Surfers Against Sewage as a Plastic Free Community.

For this award we had to meet 5 different criteria.

• Plastic Free Business Champions -we currently have over 40 business champions in the town. These businesses have removed at least 3 single-use plastic items. For this they have been awarded with a plaque and certificate, and should now look to continue their work on reducing their use of single-use plastic.

• Community Allies -we currently have over 50 community allies in and around the town. These are businesses, schools, community groups or individuals who have pledged to support our work, reduce their plastic consumption and promote our work. They receive a pledge to sign and display.

• Steering Group -we have a committed group of volunteers who meet regularly to discuss everything and anything to do with PFE.

• Council Motion -Tim Dumper represented the town council. He signed on behalf of the council that:

- the council will lead by example and phase out single-use plastics
- the council will support all plastic free initiatives in the area

• Community Events & Actions -completed 3 or more community events/actions including beach cleans, our festival, educational workshops etc

Awarded with the Judge’s Special Award from the Exmouth Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

September 2023

Presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Budleigh Salterton Lion’s Club for all our hard work in the community.

October 2022

Outstanding Level 5 ‘In Your Neighbourhood Award’ presented by Exmouth in Bloom.
