“I have been volunteering within the Plastic Free Exmouth group for the past 3 years and I can honestly say, it's one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.
Helping not only the environment but it also promotes positive mental well-being and is great for making new friends too!”

“Beach clean on Sunday is so much more to me than just cleaning the beach.
Some people have said to me that it’s just a drop in the ocean and what difference is it going to make?
However, saving any plastic we can from going back out into the sea just has to be a good thing.”

“Although I can’t make every week, since my first time (apprehensive as quite shy!) I’ve been made really welcome and it’s a lovely way to start a Sunday, enjoying the fresh air and our fabulous beach, chatting with other beach cleaners, as well as feeling you’re doing some good 😊”

“A Sunday morning beach clean really blows the cobwebs away, then we enjoy coffee with good people afterwards”

“It feels so positive to pick up bits of litter to prevent them going back in the sea again and its also so wonderful to connect with nature and enjoy all the different kinds of weather as we’re walking along.
It's great to spend some time mindfully walking along the beach looking for the little bits of plastic or fishing net and stopping to appreciate how beautiful the beach is and how lucky we are!"

“Why I join in the beach clean….. ‘Discounted coffee at Hangtime and Zero waste store discount’…. I actually come along as I love a walk with a purpose, the other volunteers are lovely, so welcoming and chatty and there are plenty of optional social events.
I get a real sense of community every Sunday and miss it when I’ve got other commitments.
I love it that you can dip in and out without judgement!”

“My Sunday mornings now involve, along with a lively bunch of volunteers, removing rubbish from our local beach.
No matter how small the accumulation is, it contributes to making our beach a cleaner and safer environment for us all in the future.
There is a meet afterwards at Hangtime Café, for a well deserved and friendly coffee.
We chat, catch up and discuss when and where our next social event is, supporting our local venues!!....often with alcohol!!”

“I mainly do it for the animals. It’s a lovely walk. I don’t like seeing animals tangled up!”
